(Lander, Wyo.) – Earlier this week sixth-graders from Lander Middle School spent time in Sinks Canyon to plant trees to replace lodge pole pines killed by bark beetles, teacher Gayla Hammer reports.
(Lander, Wyo.) – This year all of Lander Middle School’s sixth-graders, 119 total, got to go on trips to Yellowstone National Park. Two separate trips were taken to get all of them there.
(Lander, Wyo.) – A crew from the Dancers’ Workshop of Jackson is in Lander this week teaching students modern dance, hip-hop and jazz to students in grades K-6 during their P.E. classes. They were brought to Lander by Promoting Arts in Lander Schools with financial support from the Wyoming Arts Council and the Laura Jane Musser Fund.
(Lander, Wyo.) – Yesterday, Lander Middle School held its annual History Day. Gayla Hammer reports that 165 students participated in the local contest. The students that placed in the top five places in each category have qualified for the District History Day contest that will be held at the Fremont County Public Library on Tuesday, February 25th.
