    Speed possible cause of fatal crash west of Cheyenne Thursday

    (Cheyenne, WY) – Wyoming Highway Patrol was dispatched to a fatal one-vehicle rollover near milepost 7 on WY-210 at around 8:20 pm on March 18th.

    The driver was eastbound on the highway and while negotiating a curve to the right when the vehicle collided with a snowbank in the same lane, according to WHP. The impact caused the vehicle to become airborne and overturn.

    55-year-old Cheyenne resident Trent A. Rogers has been identified as the driver. He was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to injuries at the scene of the crash.

    Speed is being investigated as a potential contributing factor.

    This is the 19th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 13 in 2020, 33 in 2019, and 16 in 2018 to date.
