NABC formally removes Councilman from office; “Arapaho people will have the last word,” says Addison

The Northern Arapaho Business Council publicly announced on September 22nd that Councilman Anthony “Al” Addison was formally removed from office following a vote in accordance with Tribal law.

The plan to formally remove Addison from office for “fraud and/abuse of office, related to Councilman Addison’s unilateral actions and use of Tribal resources in authorizing, funding and operating the former Wyoming Public Policy Center (WPPC)” and “dereliction of duty, related to Councilman Addison’s failure to adequately perform his duties as an official of the Northern Arapaho Tribe” was shared by the NABC on August 20th.

Addison was placed on paid administrative leave in early August for reportedly refusing to return tribal funds, as well as documentation related to the Wyoming Public Policy Center. Addison stated he offered to return those records and attributed his placement on leave as a response to his opposition of re-opening the casinos in July.

In a press release emailed to County 10 on September 22nd, Addison states under “General Council Resolution 6663 as amended” the NABC’s formal vote to remove him is not the final say, but he has the right to appeal the decision. “The Arapaho people will have the last word on this decision, and I trust their judgment when they are given all the facts.”

The announcement from the NABC about Addison’s formal removal shared on the Northern Arapaho Tribe’s Facebook page can be read by clicking here.
