    In loving memory, Jane Bowman

    Jane Fassett Sorell Bowman (Jigger) passed away October 10, 2021 at her residence at Touchmark Assisted living in Meridian, Idaho.

    Jane was born May 25, 1939 to John and Jane (Sheppard) Sorell in Austin, Texas.

    Jane grew up in Brady, Texas and attended Southward Elementary School and Brady High School graduating in 1957. She then attended Sul Ross State College in Alpine, Texas where she met her husband Keith Bowman and were married in 1958. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961. After graduating, they moved to Arapahoe, Wyoming; living there from 1961-1967. They then moved to Wamsutter, Wyoming where they lived from 1967-68. She was a substitute teacher in both towns. In 1968 they moved to Jeffrey City, Wyoming where she taught 5th grade for 11 years. Her years in Jeffrey City were some of her happiest years. In 1979 she moved to Lander, Wyoming where she taught 6th grade until she retired. In 1990 she and Keith bought a small ranch near Lander where she spent many happy years. She enjoyed gardening, watching the diverse wildlife and the many happy summers her grandchildren spent with them.

    On October 1st, 2018, Jane and Keith moved to Touchmark Assisted living in Meridian, Idaho to be closer to family.

    Jane was involved in many professional and Civic organizations and held many offices in all of them. She belonged to the Lander Chapter of BPO Does, the Hudson Home Crafters, American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She belonged to the Wyoming Education Association, The National Education Association and the Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Sorority for Teachers.

    Jane is survived by her children, Terry (Alisa) Bowman of Middleton, ID Barbara (Scott) Newcomb of Golden, CO, Sandra (Creg) Steele of Meridian, ID and John Bowman of Fort Collins, CO. Her grandchildren, Savannah (Patrick) Pola, Leighton (Gabby) Bowman, Nick Franklin, Nicole (Cole) Kramer, Sara (Tom) Stewart, and Summer Steele. Great grandsons Thaddeus and Crue Pola. Her sister Susan Snodgrass and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her Husband Keith R. Bowman, daughter Debbie Bowman, and sister Jeannette C. Appleton and her parents.

    Memorial Services for Jane Bowman will be held at the chapel at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Meridian, Idaho on October 18th, 2021 at 1:00pm mountain time.
