Dangerous winds continue to impact Interstate 80 travel

(Wyoming) – For the last several days, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has posted “Dangerous Wind” warnings for Interstate 80 travelers. That’s expected to continue throughout the week, with some potential snow into the mix Thursday and Friday.

Earlier this week, both Arlington and Elk Mountain reported gusts over 80 mph. Northern Wyomingites in the small town of Clark experienced a 95 mph gust.

According to WYDOT data, in 2020 there were 167 wind-caused traffic crashes, causing vehicles to blow-over.
