Fremont County athletes fared well in Green River on Friday with five first place finishes in the sprints and hurdles.
Lander’s Shawn Cozzens won the 100 and 200-meter dashes in excellent early season times of 11.16 and 22.87. Riverton’s Caleb Crowley took the gold medal in the 400-meter dash in 54.04.
Tiger junior Gage Gose continued to drop his times in the hurdle races, winning both events. He ran 15.31 to win the 110-meter high hurdles, and 40.31 in the 300-meter intermediate race.
Ellie Kaufman paced the Lander girls with a win in 400-meters in 1:04.39.
A pair of Lady Tiger relays took first as well. Running 52.31 in the 4×100-meter relay were Avery Bever, Abigail Gribowksas, Alexa Colman, and Avery Crane. In the metric mile relay, the 4×400, the quartet of Kaufman, Kyndall McFadden, Marlee Jones, and Abigail Gribowksas turned in a time of 4:24.99.
Riverton was led by freshman Victoria Gale with a third place finish in the 200-meter dash and two other scoring performances.
