University of Wyoming has more former players currently in the NFL than Oregon, Boise State, and Colorado

The University of Wyoming has 14 former players currently on active 53-man rosters in the National Football League.

And that might look a little silly compared to Alabama’s 56 players, or Ohio State’s 50. But, when compared to some other traditional college football powers, it’s not bad at all!

Teams that also have 14 active players include Ole Miss, TCU, and Boston College. Teams with less than 14 include; Oregon, Colorado, Missouri, Texas Tech, Kentucky, Michigan State, Oregon State, Kansas State, Louisville, North Carolina, Purdue, Baylor, Arizona State, Washington, Northwestern, Arizona, and Wyoming’s Mountain West rival, Boise State.

You can find a full list of college’s with active NFL players here. And, before you correct us, Wyoming’s total is wrong. Recently, linebacker Cassh Maluia was upgraded from the New England Patriot’s practice squad to the roster, and the NCAA website is yet to update that.

10 of the 14 current National Football League players are Craig Bohl-era recruits.

    Current Wyoming Cowboys in the NFL include;

    • Josh Allen – QB – Buffalo Bills
    • Marcus Epps – SS – Philadelphia Eagles
    • Rico Gafford – WR – Las Vegas Raiders
    • Tashaun Gipson – FS – Chicago Bears
    • Carl Granderson – OLB – New Orleans Saints
    • Brian Hill – RB/KR – Atlanta Falcons
    • Jacob Hollister – TE – Seattle Seahawks
    • Cassh Maluia – LB – New England Patriots
    • Mark Nzeocha – OLB – San Francisco 49ers
    • Mike Purcell – DE – Denver Broncos
    • Chase Roullier – C – Washington Football Team
    • Logan Wilson – MLB – Cincinnati Bengals
    • Andrew Wingard – SS – Jacksonville Jaguars
    • Eddie Yarbrough – DE – Minnesota Vikings

*Cornerback Tyler Hall is currently on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. Tight End Austin Fort was cut from the Denver Broncos in 2020 after his second straight season-ending injury suffered in practice.
