Fremont County artists celebrated at reception Saturday

(Riverton, WY) – Central Wyoming College hosted a reception on Saturday night for the Fremont County Art Exhibit, which is currently on display in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Gallery until February 14th.

Not only were the works of art from local artists featured but the evening included a quick draw. Participating artists had two hours to complete a work of art, which was then judged by Lander-based multidisciplinary artist and writer Nick Thornburg.

There was a wide range of mediums and styles at work, so the judging was based on those pushing their own artistry, and producing something interesting, Nick shared that evening.

    Winners are as follows:

1st place – Lilly Riter for an acrylic painting
2nd place – Josh King for developing a piece in the darkroom
3rd place – Al Hubbard for a mixed media painting

All three artists are CWC alumni, shared Nita Kehoe, CWC Art Professor.

The reception was really well attended, she noted. They plan to make this an annual event.
