(Wyoming) – Per ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, the Wyoming Cowboys were selected Sunday to play in the 2021 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Kent State University. This year’s game from Boise Alberton’s Stadium is set for Tuesday, December 21st.
Wyoming returns to the game after winning it in 2017 against Central Michigan 37-14.
Kent State finished the year 7-6 overall after losing to Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference championship game.
The Pokes finished 6-6 overall this season, knocking off Colorado State, Utah State, Montana State, Northern Illinois, Ball State and Connecticut.
This is Wyoming’s fourth bowl selection in the last six years. Most recently, Wyoming won the Arizona Bowl in 2019 38-17 over Georgia State.
