(Torrington, WY) – 65-year-old James Ray Jones died Friday, September 17th, 2021, while incarcerated at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institute in Torrington, according to a press release from the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC).
Jones was originally convicted of a 4th offense of Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) in Sweetwater County on June 22, 2017. He was sentenced to three to six years by District Court Judge Lavery.
He was born on April 27, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and had been battling a lengthy illness, the WDOC stated.
Per their policy, an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.
