#WhatsHappening: Wildlife on Tap planned for April 5th

(Lander, WY) – Access to fun, free, and community-centered science communication is available on the first Tuesday of each month at Coalter Loft in the Lander Bar through Wyoming Wildlife Federation’s Wildlife on Tap. This event focuses on a new scientist for each talk as they share their work impacting Wyoming wild creatures and habitats.

The upcoming event, “Eager Beavers, Believers or Deceivers,” will be at 7:00 pm on April 5th, 2022, and is sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation. The hosts, the team of biologists from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Amy Anderson and Joanna Harter, will share just why exactly we need beavers around and how you can live in harmony if a beaver family happens upon your doorstep.

Having folks in the community who enjoy protecting and conserving wildlife is important, and WWF looks forward to greeting that core at Wildlife on Tap as we come together to learn about and celebrate wildlife conservation. Partners sharing their research in this project are on diverse topics ranging from sagebrush scrub restoration to predator-prey cycles of moose and wolves in Yellowstone. They also represent a variety of organizations and land-use agencies. These events are short, free, and fun for all ages and backgrounds.

Wyoming Wildlife Federation has put boots on the ground for wildlife conservation for 83 years. In 2021 alone, the Federation helped protect 130 miles of critical migration corridor, protected sage-grouse hunting, upgraded 7 miles of fencing on migration paths, hosted over 100 children at educational summer camps, and helped pass additional funding for WGFD’s Access Yes! Program, some of which will be allocated to wildlife overpasses.
