Wednesday Fire Weather Watch upgraded to Red Flag Warning

(Fremont County, WY) – The forecast shared earlier today noted a Fire Weather Watch was in effect from noon to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 25th. That has now been upgraded to a Red Flag Warning and includes a significant portion of Fremont County.

Warm weather, low humidity, and gusty winds will create favorable conditions for fires to spread rapidly, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

“A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Wednesday from Noon until 8 pm. Humidity as low as 12 percent and southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.”
