    WDOC eases COVID-19 restrictions; normal visitation returned March 1

    (Cheyenne, WY) – The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) is taking actions to return to normal prison operations, with Director Shannon announcing that normal visitation returned March 1st at all sites.

    In addition classroom, programming and group sizes limited to 10 individuals under pandemic operations have been returned to normal size.

    Volunteers will also be allowed back into the facilities once they complete the compulsory annual training missed for last year.

    “We are evaluating easing further restrictions and will as time goes on,” Director Shannon commented

    “CDC guidelines continue to recommend mask wearing in prison facilities and we are eager to resume our normal operations and will do so carefully and deliberately.”

    Eased restrictions will be reversed when and where virus outbreaks dictate.
