#Smiles: Two Fremont County athletes elected to the WHSAA Student Advisory Committee

A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Olsen Orthodontics.

(Fremont County, WY) – Last week, the Wyoming High School Activities Association elected two new members to its Student Advisory Committee, both from Fremont County.

Maren Baker, from Dubois High School, was elected along with Layla C’Bearing, from Wyoming Indian High School, who will become official members next year.

Jaden Ferris from Wyoming Indian High School was on the council this year as well, and will be graduating this spring.

The WHSAA Student Advisory Council is made up of 16 student leaders from around the state. The focus is to improve sportsmanship at events. The council will meet several times during the school year and will facilitate a Statewide Sportsmanship Summit in November, where each school will send their student leaders.

The goal is for council members to facilitate the sharing and ideas that have been working around the state. Those student leaders will then take an action plan back to their school and implement strategies to improve sportsmanship at their schools and events.

    Congrats to all committee athletes!
