Riverton splash pad expected to reopen this summer; Date TBD

(Riverton, WY) – Suppose the current weather pattern indicates what to expect as we head into summer; the more places to cool down, the better. Since the initial opening during the summer of 2019, the splash pad located at City Park has been dormant due to the pandemic as well as some design issues.

The City of Riverton announced today, June 18th, that they are currently working with Sletten Construction to get the splash pad going for the summer.

“Unfortunately, the facility is not working per design and does not currently meet, nor maintain, public health thresholds for it to be open at this time,” according to the City of Riverton update. “We appreciate your patience as we resolve these issues – especially during these hot summer days.”

“The city prioritizes the health and safety of the Riverton community and its children and will do everything it can to ensure the splash pad is the fun, safe facility it was designed to be.”

Updates will be provided as information becomes available about an anticipated opening date.
