    Riverton Clerk and Treasurer office set to open May 7th

    As reported by County 10 earlier this month, Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese has confirmed the opening date of the Clerk/Treasurer office in Riverton will be Tuesday, May 7th.

    County Clerk Julie Freese and County Treasurer Tom Majdic jointly announce the reopening of the Riverton Clerk/Treasurer Office.

    Following an almost 2 year closure of the office, it with great pleasure that the Clerk and Treasurer have worked together to reopen the Riverton Office.  Beginning Tuesday, May 7, 2019, the office will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    In addition to new and longer hours, the Clerk will have an employee to handle vehicle titles, duplicate titles, land recordings, UCC loan filings, marriage licenses, voter registration and courier services for other offices as necessary.

    The Treasurer will provide an employee who will handle the collection of sales tax, issuance of registration as well as passenger and truck plates.  They will also collect property tax payments.

    The office will now be in the old Circuit Court/Sheriff and Attorney building at 818 S. Federal Blvd.  This office now holds the Coroner, CAST, Juvenile Services, and Emergency Management Offices.

    Some activities may require customers to come to the County Courthouse to complete, but the Clerk and Treasurer hope a presence on the east side of the county will be appreciated just the same.
