County Clerk and Treasury office set to open in Riverton next month

Riverton-area residents will soon have the opportunity to have clerk and treasury services in their community once again.

“We are looking at early May” explained Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese. “It will be open Tuesday and Thursday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Clerks’ office will offer all of the services currently available in Lander including, UCC filings, Land recordings, marriage licenses, voter registration, and titles.

Freese told County 10, “I’ve worked here 40 years and it was always open in Riverton to give some services to that part of the county. Fremont County is very large and spread out. Title transfers are not the easiest and having to drive to Lander and find out you don’t have the paperwork is difficult on people. We always strive to make sure customers don’t have to come back several times, but the reality is that it happens. It may impact the business in the Lander office.”
In addition to services from the Clerk’s office, a Fremont County Treasurer staffer will be able to assist with services Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

Fremont County Treasurer Tom Majdic told us, “We are striving to offer as much service to Riverton as possible. The only exception will be specialty license plates and mobile machinery stickers. You can renew your plates, pay property taxes, and get your new county 10 plates.”

Majdic was elected to office in late 2018 and told many along the campaign route that he’d like to open the Riverton office once again.

The office will be located at 818 S. Federal Boulevard in Riverton.
