    RHS Speech & Debate claim first at Teton Invitational

    This past weekend at the Teton Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament in Jackson Hole, WY the RHS Speech & Debate team claimed first place overall beating out teams from all over the state.

    The Wolverines demonstrated their prowess as a team and as individual competitors by also spending quite a bit of time on the awards stage. Savanah Whitehurst took 4th in Dramatic Interpretation, 3rd in Humorous Interpretation and 3rd in Poetry Interpretation and was a semi-finalist in Impromptu Speaking. Angel Carrillo claimed 1st place with Kyler Bennett in Policy Debate. Kyler also placed 5th in Congressional Debate. Joseph Thornton was awarded 1st  place in Program Oral Interpretation, 1st in Dramatic Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, and 1st in Duo Interpretation with Elizabeth Pierson. Elizabeth also earned 3rd place in Congressional Debate. Shannyn Kreitzer was a semi-finalist in Program Oral Interpretation, 1st in Humorous Interpretation and 3rd in Duo Interpretation along with Kaia Tippets. Kaia also took 3rd in Poetry Interpretation. Carolyn Thornton was a semi-finalist in Humorous Interpretation, took 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation, 4th in Poetry Interpretation, and 2nd in Duo Interpretation with Isaac Almejo-Ponce.

    This weekend finds the RHS Speech & Debate Team in Greybull, WY where they’re sure to keep up their high standard of performance.
