    Large turnout for the 8th annual Wind River Pride Fest Saturday

    (Lander, WY) – Members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community gathered at City Park for the 8th annual Wind River Pride Fest today, June 19th. This afternoon’s event included several speakers, music, food, parade float decorating and a rainbow costume contest.

    Today was the last of three Wind River Pride events that began on Thursday with the Pride Houlihan Narratives, and last night was the first-ever Pride Street Dance held in Lander at the Maverick Lounge.

    Several booths and vendors were set up for the fest in City Park including Fremont County Public Health who were offering COVID vaccines. Local grassroots initiatives, Lander for All and the Lander Climate Action Network, also had representatives present to share their missions.

    Another first this year was the proclamation of June being Wind River Pride Month. Lander Mayor Monte Richardson signed the proclamation presented by Wind River Pride at the June 8th city council meeting. Click here to view our earlier post.
