All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Riverton, WY) – 45-year-old Terrance H. Higgs faces 1 first degree, and 5 second degree counts of sexual abuse against a minor.
If convicted, Higgs faces between 5 and 50 years of imprisonment for the first degree charge, and up to 20 years for each of the second degree charges.
Higgs waived his preliminary hearing, moving the case to District Court. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for August 13, 2021.
On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Higgs was identified as the suspect in a rape that was reported to the Riverton Police Department. According to the victim, the assault happened on November 14, 2018.
A Child Forensic Interviewer conducted a Child Assault Prevention (CAP) interview with the minor female.
During this interview, it was learned that the victim had allegedly been sexually abused by Higgs on 5 occasions between October 1, 2018, and the rape that occurred on November 14, 2018.
