Fourth name now known, preliminary hearing dates set for individuals facing charges for 2019 Riverton double homicide

    All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    (Riverton, WY) – It was reported on December 11th that the Fremont County Attorney’s Office was in the process of charging four county residents with various felony charges for the January 4, 2019 murders of Jocelyn Watt and Rudy Perez.

    On December 13th, the names of three of those charged in relation to the crime were released, including Patrick Sun Rhodes Jr., Bryce Teran, and Korbin Headley.


    The fourth party facing charges is now known to be Brandon Monroe, whose name was released in the December 17th Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) report.

    Preliminary hearings have been set for each party, to occur at the Riverton Circuit Court on the following dates:

    • SunRhodes Jr.: January 6th
    • Teran: January 5th
    • Headley: January 4th
    • Monroe: December 22nd

    The investigation has been ongoing since January of 2019, after the bodies of Watt and Perez were discovered inside of a house in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Riverton, with community assistance being sought as recently as January of 2021.

    Members of victims’ families released the following statement after the charge announcement:


    Our family would like to thank all the dedicated law enforcement that have worked diligently to find and arrest those accused of murdering Jocelyn and Rudy. 

    We are grateful to those who continue to work with us as the process begins in the courts. 

    As we are grieving the loss and working through the pain this brings, we request that we are given the space needed to work through the process. 


    We have no further comments at this time.”
