(Riverton, WY) – In preparation for the Memorial Day Flags for the Fallen honoring on Monday, flags were placed on Veteran’s graves at Mountain View Cemetery Saturday morning.
Local veterans, and community members, including the Boy Scouts Troop 44, volunteered to place the flags. Veterans Hall Commander Warren Hess shared with County 10 earlier this week that approximately 1,700 flags would be placed.
They began around 8 am and were nearly complete by 9 am thanks to numerous volunteers.
The Flags for the Fallen Ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery is happening on Monday, May 31st at 10 am. To learn more, read our earlier post here.
There are also two other Memorial Day services that County 10 knows are happening locally. The Don Stough Post 33 in Lander will hold services in both Hudson and Lander on Monday. Read our earlier post here for more information.
At this time, we have not heard back from any other Veteran organizations about other ceremonies or services planned in Fremont County on Monday. If you know of any, let us know the details and we would be happy to share.
