    Memorial Day services planned in Hudson, Lander

    (Fremont County, WY) – Lander’s American Legion Don Stough Post 33 has planned Memorial Day services for both Hudson and Lander on Monday, May 31st.

    The first service will begin at 9 am at the Hudson Cemetery, Post 33 Adjutant Ken Persson, Sr. shared with County 10. The next service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery at 11 am.

    New plaques have been installed that include the seven seals of the seven military branches on the Mount Hope Veterans Memorial and will be recognized during the service.

    In addition, a new plaque that includes more Veteran names and descriptions of the war eras has been added to the monument at the Fremont County Courthouse. Persson explained this new plaque is located on the base of the monument in the northwest section.

    In case of inclement weather on Monday, the Lander service will move to the Wind River Community Church located at 120 Valley View Drive, according to Persson.

    Flags will be going up down Lander’s Main Street starting at 12 pm on Friday, May 28th. The Avenue of Flags at Mount Hope will be put up Friday evening through Memorial Day.

    County 10 is working to connect with all local Veteran organizations to share all of the planned Memorial Day ceremonies across the county. If you know of any events happening, please let us know!
