    #Activate10: Riverton Girl Scouts and Soroptimist International holding shoe drive

    Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

    Soroptimist International (SI) of Riverton has again partnered with the Girl Scouts to implement the ultimate Reduce/Recycle/Re-Use project. Members are asking Fremont County residents to spring clean their closets and bring any new or gently used shoes to one of the collection boxes listed below.

    All shoes are needed, men’s women’s children’s. The shoes will be banded, bagged and sold to Funds2Orgs, a Florida based non-profit.

    Funds2Orgs ships the shoes overseas to developing countries, using them to set up micro-enterprises and helping individuals own and run their own businesses. This project keeps the shoes out of the landfill and can give them a second life. Funds raised are used by SI Riverton for their programs in Fremont County, improving the lives of women and girls.
