(Lander, WY) – The Wyoming Coaches’ Association announced today, June 15th, the selections for Coach of the Year by their fellow WCA coaches for their respective sports during the 2021 spring sports season.
Of the 19 coaches selected, three of them are from Fremont County School District #1. Ben Gose was selected for the 3A boys’ outdoor track coach. Abilio Monteiro was selected for the 3A girls’ soccer coach and Derek Peil for the assistant soccer coach.
Both the Lander Valley High School boys’ track and girls’ soccer teams brought home state championships this spring.

These coaches will be honored this summer at the annual WCA Hall of Fame – Awards Banquet, which will be held at the Ramkota Hotel in Casper, Wyoming on Friday, July 23rd at 7:00 pm.
