#RivertonBiz: Cowboy Candy making its way across the Cowboy State

#rivertonbiz, shares the stories of local movers and shakers of our Fremont County economy.

(Riverton, WY) – Melt in your mouth is just one way to describe Cowboy Candy, which is freeze-dried right here in Riverton.

Owner Shane Mathill provides candy lovers a whole new experience with some favorites like Skittles, Jolly Ranchers, Charleston Chews, Caramel M&M’s, Saltwater Taffy, and many others.

Cowboy Candy is taking Wyoming by storm – not only can you find it locally at Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, Pit Stop Travel Centers, and soon Fast Lane, but the University of Wyoming also gave Shane a call to sell at their store.

This family business started because his three daughters love freeze-dried candy so much, and they would buy it every time they traveled to out-of-state tournaments, he shared.

Driving back from a tournament they decided to invest in a machine to make their own, and sell at tournaments and on Facebook since it’s not readily available here.

They now have six machines in production since starting in mid-February and his daughters are learning all about running a business.

Not only do kids enjoy the unique candy, but it allows those with braces or dentures to enjoy candy as well – turning chewy candies into crunchy deliciousness.

Check out Cowboy Candy on Facebook or in a local store listed above.
