One dead, one injured in Sinks Canyon rollover

(Lander, WY) – A single vehicle rollover occurring in Sinks Canyon around 8:30 PM on Saturday, September 4th, resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) preliminary report.

The fatally injured driver has been identified as Colorado man Edward Marovich, 29.

The report states that a sports car was traveling north on WY-131, when it failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway and entered into a driver’s side leading slide.

The vehicle then vaulted over the steep borrow ditch and rolled in an end-over-end fashion until impacting a tree with the driver’s side door, where it came to rest on its roof.

Seat belts were in use, according to the report, but driver speed is being looked into as a possible contributing factor.

This is the 78th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021, compared to 87 in 2020, 110 in 2019, and 75 in 2018 to date.
