(Riverton, WY) – Riverton Police Department (RPD) officers assisted in the safe capture of a moose in a residential area of Riverton today, April 8th, according to post on the RPD’s Facebook page.
County 10 reached out to Information and Education Specialist Rene Schell from Wyoming Game and Fish, who confirmed the animal was safely tranquilized, and is currently being transported to the South Pass area for safe release.
“This was a young bull moose,” Schell stated, adding that it was probably just a yearling.
