    Longtime Riverton Police Department Sergeant retires today

    The Riverton Police Department announced the retirement of Sergeant Scott Komrs today, April 1st.

    It is with great privilege and honor to announce Sergeant Scott Komrs retirement from the Riverton Police Department with 30 years of Law Enforcement experience. Sgt Komrs you have done an impeccable job serving your community and fellow officers. -RPD

    Sergeant Komrs began his law enforcement career in 1990 with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Department. He transitioned to the Riverton Police Department in 1999 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2005.

    RPD Sergeant Scott Komrs and Dispatcher Anne Metzler were both acknowledged by Chief of Police Eric Murphy as the 2018 Officer of the Year and Dispatcher of the Year.

    During his law enforcement tenure, he held several positions including: Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, Detective, Custody and Control Instructor, Taser Instructor, and Active Shooter Instructor. He was also a leading role in developing the Riverton Police Special Response Team and served devotedly as the team leader since 2005. 

    Sergeant Komrs has been an amazing co-worker and his leadership will be missed. -RPD
