    Lander adopts Hillcrest Drive plan

The Lander City Council voted to adopt the Hillcrest Drive Strategic Plan during a regular meeting this week.

Almost 30 percent of the plan area is located within city limits, assistant mayor RaJean Strube Fossen said, including the property “from Bridger Street out to our park pathway that goes down into City Park” as well as the land “from that city park pathway out to Mortimore Lane.”

Mayor Monte Richardson pointed out that, by adopting the strategic plan, the city will be able to apply for funding to implement the changes outlined in the document, but Strube Fossen noted that the study “doesn’t commit any funds” toward improvements on Hillcrest Drive.

“The county and the city will have to come before the council if any designs or constructions from the recommendations of the study want to be implemented,” she said.

Councilmember Dan Hahn voted against adopting the plan.

“This is definitely one (that) I question,” he said.
