    Dubois man reported to have attacked patient at Lander hospital

    All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    53-year-old Patrick Lee Rose, of Dubois, is facing an aggravated assault and battery charge after most likely blinding a patient at SageWest Health Care in Lander on November 26th, 2020.

    Rose allegedly ran out of his room at the hospital and into the room next to his where he “jumped” on an elderly patient and “attacked” them, according to court documents. He “completely gouged out” their right eye, and “most likely ruined” their left eye in the attack.

    Upon arrival, the Lander Police Department Officers report Rose as being dressed “in hospital scrubs and had blood on his hands and clothing.”

    Rose was arraigned on Wednesday, December 2nd, and has a preliminary hearing on December 14th.

    An aggravated assault and battery charge is a felony punishable by imprisonment of no more than 10 years.

    In regard to the incident, SageWest Health Care said, “due to patient confidentiality, we cannot comment on the details of the incident.”
