COVID-19 pandemic has created domestic violence and mental health concerns across Fremont County [PODCAST]

“It’s been bad for mental health to be honest with you,” Fremont County Suicide Prevention Task Force member Becky Parker told the County 10 Podcast. “One of the big issues is isolation, when you have people that have issues with depression or domestic violence in the home, we’re seeing more calls for people that have attempted suicide o arer having suicidal ideation.”

Parker elaborated that since the pandemic began locally in March, calls are not only increasing in volume, but the severity of calls are increasing as well.

The County 10 Podcast caught up with Becky to discuss mental health concerns in Fremont County, how residents can help or what to do if you’re in need of help, and a big fundraiser happening now for the Fremont County Suicide Prevention Task Force at Taco John’s in Riverton.
