    A quarter of a century: Lander Valley High School wins 25th straight boys swimming championship

    (Laramie, WY) – The Lander Valley High School boys swimming team clinched their 25th consecutive Wyoming state 3A championship Saturday.

    LVHS dominated in the pool, winning 9 out of 12 prelim events Friday and also won 9 events in the Saturday finals. The Tigers tallied 342 total points. Green River finished second at 202 points and Buffalo came in third. Riverton took 10th overall.

    Saturday began with the LVHS 200 yard medley relay team of Nolan McFadden, Reed McFadden, Brennen Blackburn, and Benaiah Dolence taking first place.

    Next up, sophomore Dylan Huelskamp clinched the 200 yard freestyle championship. Nolan McFadden won the 100 yard backstroke and Brayden Brown captured the 500 yard free championship. The 100 yard free was also Lander’s thanks to Brennen Blackburn.

    The Tiger’s 200 yard freestyle relay team of Jonny Kulow, Nolan McFadden, Brennen Blackburn, and Dylan Huelskamp also captured first and the 400 free relay team of Jonny Kulow, Colton Wietzki, Benny Kulow, and Dylan Huelskamp won.

    Junior Jonny Kulow dominated the 200 yard IM and the 100 yard fly, setting new state records in both.

    Right after the meet Lander Head Coach Shawna Morgan was named the 3A Coach of the Year. Jonny Kulow was named the 3A boys Swimmer of the Year and Swimmer of the Meet.
