The annual Hall of Fame Banquet hosted by the Wyoming Coaches’ Association (WCA) was not able to happen this summer as planned. Instead, WCA Past President Mike Lashley is currently on a road trip around Wyoming hand-delivering these honors to coaches.
Last night, June 30th, Mike delivered plaques and rings to coaches in Fremont County that were selected by the WCA. First time Coach of the Year (COTY) recipients receive a ring, and plaques are given to those who have already received a ring.
Starting off in Fremont County was honoring three Fremont County School District #1 coaches.
Misty Atnip is the Lander Middle School Cross-Country/Track Head Coach. She received her very first COTY from WCA last night.
Mike Watson is the Lander Valley High School Golf Head Coach. He received a COTY for the LVHS Boys’ Golf Team this past fall.
Shawna Morgan is the Lander Valley High School Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming & Diving Head Coach. She received COTY awards for Girls’ Swimming & Diving in the fall, and Boys’ Swimming & Diving in the winter.
Coaches from Wyoming Indian High School and Riverton High School received COTY awards.
