    Wyoming Society of the Sons of the American Revolution appoints interim president

    (Riverton, WY) – On March 1st, 2024, at the recommendation of Charles “Chip” White, the elected president of the Wyoming Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Board of Managers Appointed Karl Falken Interim President of the WYSSAR. President White is a retired Navy Capt. and has taken on new and very demanding responsibilities for the U.S. Navy. To assure that good leadership continues in the state society, he asked Mr. Falken to accept appointment to the office of Interim President until elections can be held
    at the next general conference in three months. Mr. Falken was approved by a unanimous vote of the BOM.

    The SAR has been active in Wyoming or over a century, beginning shortly after the national society was founded in 1889. Its current membership is around a hundred members and is growing. Five chapters are currently chartered in the state: Big Horn Basin, High Plains, North Platte, Powder River and Wind River.

    “SAR members have also answered their country’s call in every major American conflict beginning with the battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, and continuing to the present day, including Operation Desert Storm, Bosnia, and the recent actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. SAR members have received the highest awards America can bestow, including the Medal of Honor. Our core values are:

    President Falken’s goals for the next few months are to create a WYSSAR Website, fill all open state and chapter officer positions, build membership, coordinate a joint general conference and 250th anniversary event with the WYDAR and modernize and improve the efficiency and responsiveness of the society operations and build positive relationship with related organizations like the DAR and the community in general.
