    Wolverines win state golf title; Parker Paxton takes individual win

    (Riverton, WY) – The Wolverine boys golf team will be adding some new hardware to the Riverton High School trophy case.

    RHS both won the team 3A state golf championship, and boasts the individual champion, Parker Paxton.

    Paxton, a sophomore, has now won back-to-back state individual championships. Parker improved on his first day 66, with a day-two 64. He shot 11 strokes better than Worland’s Karsten Simmons who finished second.

    Riverton’s Brodie Dale took 5th with a two-day 161. Lander’s Sequeil Lozier finished 9th overall with a two-day 167.

    The RHS boys were 32 strokes better overall than second place finishers, Worland. Lander finished tied for 5th overall.

    Meanwhile on the ladies side, Wheatland won the team event at the Lander Country Club. The Lander ladies finished 4th overall.

    The top Fremont County female finisher was Lander’s Maddie Korell, with a two-day 176, good enough for 4th overall. Lovell’s Erika Cook won the individual race with a two-day 150.
