    Voting centers, COVID restrictions, and more for Fremont County’s primary election next week

    Tuesday, August 18th, 2020, is the primary election, and Fremont County has moved to vote centers this year. The centers will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and you can vote at any one of the 8 centers.

    “Fremont County is equipped to social distance our voters and workers, and have sanitizers available,” shared County Clerk Julie Freese. “Masks will also be available, but folks are welcome to bring their own.”

    • Riverton Fairgrounds—Fremont CenterRESTRICTIONS: Masks recommended but not required.
    • Shoshoni Sr. Citizens CenterRESTRICTIONS: Masks recommended but not required.
    • Dubois School Dist. Admin. BuildingRESTRICTIONS: Masks recommended but not required.
    • Kinnear Fire HallRESTRICTIONS: Masks recommended but not required.
    • Ft. Washakie School GymRESTRICTIONS: Masks are required of all who work or vote there.
    • Wyoming Indian High School GymRESTRICTIONS: Masks are required of all who work or vote there.
    • Arapahoe Charter SchoolRESTRICTIONS: Masks are required of all who work or vote there.

    “Remember to go to the polls on ‘off’ hours,” Freese noted. Busy hours are generally 7-8 am, 11:30-1, 4-5 pm and 6:30 pm. “There may be some lines, but we will work through the process as quickly as we can.”

    Early voting in Lander is still available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm up through Monday, August 17th, 2020, at the Election Office located in the Fremont County Courthouse.

    Absentee ballots can still be requested. They MUST be returned by 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 18th, 2020, to be counted.

    If you didn’t get registered prior to the Pre-Registration Deadline—you may still do that when you early vote, or at the polls.
