Vince Tropea hopes to help connect Fremont County on KOVE’s ‘Coffee Time’

(Fremont County, WY) – Lander’s Vince Tropea is a lot of things. A stand-up comedian, an educator, and an all-around community supporter. One thing he didn’t exactly anticipate though, was being a radio show host.

“I never pictured myself doing radio, but always knew I wouldn’t shy away from it if ever given the opportunity,” Tropea said. “I’m mega-comfortable with being behind a microphone, and my mom would always tell me I have a face for radio. Sorry, voice. She said I had a ‘voice’ for radio.”

Vince took over hosting KOVE Radio’s ‘Coffee Time’ in September 2021. Legendary broadcaster Joe Kenney had hosted the show for several decades prior to Tropea’s arrival, building a loyal following of Landerites. “I’ve loved hosting Coffee Time so far. It was kind of scary and intimidating at first while I was learning the ins and outs of radio production, but after a few months of doing it now I’m feeling like I’m at the point where I can start focusing on fine-tuning the show to make it the best it can be.”

‘Coffee Time’ can be heard weekday mornings at 9:30 a.m. by tuning to 1330 AM, 107.7 FM or streaming online here.

All things Fremont County are discussed with guests ranging from church pastors who swam 1,000 laps for charity, local veterans, business owners, moms who ran relays in every state, school kids promoting concerts through song, a bi-monthly update with Lander Mayor Monte Richardson, a little bit of everything.

“My favorite part has been meeting all the new interesting people that come in the form of guests; I feel way more involved in the community, that’s for sure,” Tropea concluded.
