Two opportunities in Lander to sign the petition to put the ½ ¢ Economic Development Sales Tax on the August ballot

Paid Public Notice sponsored by Jane Lynn

The initiative is underway to gather signatures on a petition to put the ½¢ Economic Development Sales Tax onto the primary ballot in August.

IF PASSED this tax will cost taxpayers about $80/person/year.

The tax will result in paying all of the transportation costs of the Riverton Airport MRG (minimum revenue guarantee) and assist with the ground transportation provided by WRTA. This tax is meant to alleviate the impacts of the annual request from the Airport, thereby freeing up over $200,000 annually in the City’s general fund.

The remainder of the funds will be set aside in a restricted line item for Lander projects that: 1. create jobs, 2. retain jobs, or 3. result in a net increase in revenue to the City/County. You can learn more about the tax by clicking here.
