School in Fremont County is going to look very different for awhile as Districts begin moving to virtual schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even though classes will resume in a digital fashion, the sudden end to classroom routines has left many teachers feeling like something is unfinished. To combat that feeling and generate some enthusiasm for “virtual school,” teachers at District #25 are organizing a “We Are 25” Parade scheduled for 9am on Friday, April 3rd. All Riverton teachers, public and private are invited to participate.
Linda Griffin, a Riverton High School teacher told County 10 that, “we didn’t get to say goodbye. We just left school on a Friday and that was it. We miss our kids and we want them to know we love them and are here to support them.”
RPD School Resource Officers have planned and will lead teachers along three routes through town which will hit nearly every residential street in City Limits. Students don’t need to do anything except come outside their homes and wave when they hear honking!
Teachers participating are reminded that social distancing protocol is being required and you must stay in your vehicles, even on arrival at the meeting places to begin the parade.
