The Fremont County Solid Waste facility on the outskirts of Lander takes several types of waste including recycling. While it’s free to drop-off your sorted and rinsed items from the below list, Lander resident Chase McFadden is making recycling even easier.
“Curbside recycling seemed like a needed and desired residential service for Lander,” Chase shared. “People in our community understand the benefits of recycling, but it can be a logistical challenge to collect, sort, and transport recyclable items, and it’s time-consuming.”
“For those who are committed recyclers, curbside pickup adds a level of convenience that can free up their schedules a bit. That convenience may also encourage those who don’t recycle or don’t recycle consistently to start. The recyclable items do not need to be presorted when set out at the curb, and that makes recycling easier, as well. If providing this type of service helps to increase our community’s recycling efforts, that’s a positive thing.”
