The Washakie Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest shared today, December 16th that they will close the gate near Bruce’s Parking Area at 5:00 pm on Friday, December 18th.
The Loop Road gates at South Pass and near Worthen Meadow closed on November 30th. Now, with additional snow depth and winter weather taking hold in the area the remaining access to the Loop Road, also known as Louis Lake Road, ends for summer motorized use.
The Loop Road will remain open to motorized vehicles with tracks for over-snow travel, such as snowmobiles. Please respect all posted signs for this road closure as it is in place to help minimize resource damage in the area.
