    Fremont County designated Second Amendment sanctuary Tuesday

    (Fremont County, WY) – During the March 23rd Fremont County Commissioner meeting, resolution 2021-11 passed unanimously designating Fremont County as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County.”

    Community member Harold Donahue with the support of Fremont County Sheriff Ryan Lee brought forth the resolution.

    This resolution serves as a statement from the Commissioners reaffirming their belief in the Constitution and the Second Amendment.

    Sheriff Lee noted he receives calls and questions on a regular basis asking if he will defend the Constitution. “Yes, it is my job.”

    Commissioner Clarence Thomas reiterated the importance of gun safety and personal responsibility.

    The resolution mirrors that of Weston County’s which passed in February 2021, according to Harold. Sheriff Lee made a few updates to the initial resolution to clarify the FCSO’s support as well.

    Commissioner Chair Travis Becker said, “I find it unfortunate that in this day in age, we have to state what our Constitutional rights are.”
