#Activate10: Pavillion Firefighters and Cherry Bombs team up to raise money

The Pavillion Volunteer Firefighters and the local roller derby team, Fremont County Cherry Bombs, have combined forces to host a ‘Pancake Supper’ fundraiser at the Pavillion Rec Center on Sunday, February 9th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Attendees are asked to “pay what you can” for dinner.

Along with having breakfast for dinner, there will be a silent auction and raffle. Raffle tickets are $20 and very limited, shared Fire Chief Eric Locker. The first place raffle prize is a shotgun, second place is a pistol, and third is a gift certificate to Clark’s Meat House. Proceeds from the raffle and dinner will go to the fire department.

The Cherry Bombs are organizing the Valentine-themed silent auction baskets. Items range from jewelry to auto care. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the roller derby team.

You may be thinking what an unlikely pair to team-up for a fundraiser. The Pavillion Firefighters typically host yearly fundraisers for the fire department, Erik shared. However, their small department size has hindered their ability to organize them recently. They were looking for some folks to help them, and they happened to connect with the Cherry Bombs.; who have also been raising funds as they expand and are looking for their own space here in Fremont County.
