42 participants braved the cold water in Riverton today

Special Olympics Riverton kicked-off the statewide 2020 Jackalope Jump fundraiser today, February 15th. Participants and spectators started to gather at Riverton’s City Hall around 10:00 am this morning to hop into the pool of chilly water provided by the Riverton Fire Department.

Over $6,300 was raised today for Special Olympics Wyoming. This amount significantly surpassed last year’s, shared Special Olympics Riverton Coordinator Lori Sanders.

The sun peeked out and raised the outside temperature from 8° to 13° just in time for the Jump to start at 11:00 am. Though there wasn’t a thermometer in the water, it did steam during the morning.
