(Fort Washakie, WY) – The Washakie Park wildland fire is an estimated 300 plus acres, according to early reports from Lander Rural Fire Department (LRFD) Battalion 3 Chief Trenton Jones.
Jones shared that BIA forestry fire has smoke jumpers on scene with two hand crews en route and multiple aircraft working the fire, and that Fort Washakie and Lander Rural have both been cleared from the fire for tonight.
Jones added that this is an “Evolving incident with a type 3 incident management team ordered.”
