Vandals tag Lander church and sidewalk [Photos]

Lander’s Trinity Episcopal Church on 3rd Street was vandalized overnight sometime between Thursday evening and early Friday morning.

Black spray paint was used to write vulgar expressions and images on the exterior of the building. At least one phrase contained a homophobic slur.

A church volunteer told County 10 that the vandalism was reported to the Lander Police Department. An LPD spokesperson was not available for comment on the issue Friday.

Lander citizens also discovered new vandalism along a section of sidewalk near City Park Friday morning. The sidewalk vandalism is roughly one-quarter mile away from the church.

Anyone with information on these crimes should contact the Lander Police Department at (307) 332-3131.

We have attempted to blur the explicit images, however, their content still may be offensive to some.
