Riverton advanced to the Class 4-A West semi-finals after a gritty defensive win over Evanston 46-32 in opening round action late Thursday night. The Wolverines were led by sophomore Parker Paxton and senior Lucas Engle in scoring, with Engle adding seven blocked shots.
The Wolverines face Jackson Hole a 36-35 winner over Cody at 7 p.m. with the winner automatically advancing to the state tournament. Riverton beat Jackson at home in early February 30-24.
The win was the 12th in a row for Riverton.
