With not enough players for the 18U team, this year’s season almost didn’t happen for the Renegades, according to coach Kim Shelley.

Players from surrounding areas reached out because they wanted to play and for some, it was their last season in the 18U division.

This year’s team of 13 includes players from Lander, Green River, Worland, Fort Washakie and Riverton.

Kim, who has coached for 13 years, shared this is the first championship for the 18U Renegades since forming the league.

“They are an amazing group of girls; it was a fun year,” Kim shared with County 10. “The big thing that stood out this year is how hard they worked and wanted it. Not everything went our way, but when push came to shove they pulled it out.”
