He is preceded in death by both parents, one brother, three sisters, and his partner, Tedde Roberts.

He graduated from Pavillion High School in 1968 with many lifelong friends. Straight out of high school he found work in the oil fields of Wyoming where he began to learn the business, hone his skills, and have many adventures. In the late 70’s, together with family members, they formed Rocky Mountain Geophysical, headquartered in Dickinson, ND.

In 1988 he met his best friend and business partner, Tedde Roberts. They spent 23 years together building Mowrey Seismic and beginning their passion of many collections. His most prized collection was his many friends. In 2011 he reacquainted with his high school sweetheart.

He and Mary Jo spent seven years together and built Aspen Psychological Services.

RJ hosted many 4th of July picnics at his home. This was one of his greatest joys, hosting friends and family, and showing off his grilling skills.
